Project Description

Supporting Europe's digital and green transformation, DigiWind will deliver interdisciplinary Specialized Educational Programs (SEP), essential to secure the future of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) professionals in the field of wind and energy systems through the acquisition of advanced digital skills, including key areas of the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) such as High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies.

Speed and flexibility are built into DigiWind through a modular system of three main educational tracks based on Micro Credentials of Lifelong Learning, individually tailored online master's studies, and STEM master's studies. The ambition is to educate and certify over 900 master's students and 10,000 industry professionals within a four-year project cycle. The main access point to educational experiences will be the DigiWind virtual campus - an interoperable platform delivering course modules from participating universities, centers of excellence, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Interdisciplinary SEP, combining knowledge of wind and energy systems engineering with the acquisition of advanced skills in key competency areas, including programming skills and digital thinking, will expand access beyond the existing offer through collaboration and partnership. This will significantly increase geographical scope, gender diversity, and diversity for learners and educators in Master of Science (M.Sc.), master's, and lifelong learning education. What is currently considered advanced digital skills will over time become essential digital abilities that can be assumed across any field of engineering. DigiWind will accelerate this digital transformation by educating a large number of candidates who will master the application of digital technologies to solve complex engineering and societal challenges.
