Project Description

The project will develop and implement the CAISE cloud platform on the national market, enabling SMEs to efficiently create intelligent cloud services and applications. The platform will be based on the TASKcloud computing infrastructure, which has been developed by CI TASK for several years. TASKcloud will be enhanced with additional open-source software to form the execution environment for the CAISE platform. The cloud’s development and the platform’s construction will use the DevOps methodology and CI/CD techniques, enabling its continuous evolution during the project period.

The resulting CAISE platform will offer two categories of core cloud services: management and development. The management services will cover clients, data, models, and services, while the development services will create an intelligent environment for producing both basic and sector-specific services. New services will include the analysis of Polish-language digital text documents, image processing, and hybrid documents composed of both text and images. Thanks to the use of high-performance computing (HPC), new solutions based on deep learning methods—including federated learning—and Big Data will be utilized to provide datasets for machine learning.

The project anticipates collaboration with four foreign companies (letters of intent have been signed regarding multicloud solutions) and three Polish companies serving as subcontractors responsible for platform validation. This validation will ensure the platform achieves the highest technological readiness level and is applied in at least three public administration sectors: justice, healthcare, and education. It will be an original deployment of a cloud-based AI solution and a significant product innovation.

Integrating DevOps and CI/CD techniques along with quality management procedures will lead to process innovation. Additionally, the potential for using the CAISE platform in other market areas such as security, energy, or logistics will demonstrate the universality of the solution. The use of the CAISE platform will allow Gdańsk University of Technology to significantly contribute to the development of the national digital economy, utilizing cutting-edge cloud and AI solutions, and securing its place among leading European technical universities supporting digital transformation within the EU.
